Global healthcare leader Abbott Nutrition (ABT) awarded Continental Express, Inc. its 2024 Truckload Provider of the Year Award at an awards ceremony in Columbus, Ohio on July 17th, the fifth award Continental Express has earned for their service with Abbott since 2019.
Serving over 160 countries, Abbott Laboratories provides a wide variety of solutions worldwide and domestically. Continental Express’s work focuses on Abbott’s Nutrition division, delivering over 12,000 loads annually, and is the backbone of Abbott Nutrition’s domestic supply chain. The nutritional arm of Abbott produces familiar brands like Similac Baby Formula, Glucerna, Pedialyte, Pediasure, and Ensure, which for many Americans are lifesaving and life-sustaining products.
“Continental Express is proud of the trust Abbott Nutrition has given us to deliver such vitally important products to the American public,” said Continental Express Director of Customer Relations Grant Mitchell.
At their annual award program, Abbott Nutrition hosted their top logistics partners for an evening to thank and award them for excellence in the year prior. At the Columbus, Ohio ceremony, Continental Express was named the 2024 Truckload Provider of the Year.
“The healthcare field overall demands timely, safe delivery of their products. Since the beginning of our partnership with Abbott, we have risen to meet that need with best-in-class service. We’re very proud of our team for consistently executing great service. This is our fifth award from Abbott in the last six years, and those awards would not have been won without our incredible team,” said Bradley Gottemoeller, Co-President of Continental Express.
In 2019, Continental Express was awarded Abbott’s Outstanding Ally Award. In both 2020 and 2021, Continental Express was named Abbott’s Truckload Provider of the Year. The awards underscore the service Continental provided, particularly in the areas of timely delivery and complete logistics solutions.
Then, in 2023, Abbott presented Continental Express with their Cavalry Award. The award invokes imagery of an actual cavalry and showcased Continental’s versatility and reliability as a key service provider, which proved to be a key contributor to Abbott’s successful year.
“We appreciate the partnership we have with Abbott and how it’s grown over time,” said Mitchell. “In just the last five years, we’ve expanded our facilities, operations and customer service personnel, and fleet of professional drivers to support Abbott and all our customers to work closely with them and assist them in meeting their goals.”
As of 2025, Continental’s staff numbered over 800 employees nationwide. Their headquarters are in Sidney, Ohio and their ninth and newest terminal in Oswego, Illinois opened just last year.
