2023 OTR Driver of the Year: Maurice Champen (Sidney Terminal)
Our first recipient is Maurice Champen, our Over the Road Driver of the Year. Maurice’s journey with us began over 13 years ago, and in that time he has exemplified the qualities of an exceptional driver. With a positive attitude, unwavering work ethic, and a commitment to safety, Maurice consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that our loads are delivered on time and with care. His dedication and purpose-driven approach to his work inspire us all.
In addition to Maurice, we are proud to recognize two outstanding individuals as our Local Drivers of the Year. Juan Serna, based in Chicago, and Greg Dixon from our Ft. Worth fleet. Both demonstrate exceptional professionalism and dedication to their craft. Juan’s ability to forge positive relationships with our customers and his refusal to settle for anything less than excellence make him a true asset to our team. Similarly, Greg’s flexibility, exceptional time management, and positive attitude have made him an invaluable member of our fleet.

2023 Dedicated Driver of the Year: David Moore (Gaffney Terminal)
We are delighted to present our Dedicated Driver of the Year award to Dave Moore. Managing one of our largest customers and a demanding route that spans over 600 miles per day, Dave’s commitment to integrity and safety is truly commendable. His ability to consistently deliver results while prioritizing safety is a testament to his dedication and professionalism.
2023 Extra Mile Award Winner: Diane Mumpower (Sidney Terminal)
In its inaugural year, we are thrilled to introduce the “Extra Mile” award, reserved for drivers who demonstrate exceptional work ethic, safety consciousness, and embody the values of Continental Express on the road. Our first recipient of this prestigious award is Diane Mumpower.
Diane has been an integral part of the Continental Express team, consistently showcasing reliability, safety, and a deep commitment to our company’s success. Her professionalism both on and off the road, coupled with her willingness to assist fellow drivers, makes her a true asset to our organization. As a member of CE’s Women at Wheel program, Diane not only excels in her role but also serves as an inspiration to others in the industry.
Furthermore, we extend our congratulations to our 2023 “Rookie” Drivers of the Year, Steve Slisko and Ernest Fernandez. Steve, with his knowledge, caring nature, and willingness to contribute to process improvement, has quickly proven himself as a valuable member of our team. Meanwhile, Ernest, a graduate of our CDL school, exemplifies the success of our training program with his fantastic attitude and strong work ethic.
