Continental Express Inc. is a full service transportation company that specializes in hauling refrigerated food products and has over 550 tractor trailers. We are currently seeking a professional, detail oriented person to join our Safety Department as a Compliance Specialist.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Conduct detailed review and audit of electronic logs to identify errors, discrepancies, or falsifications, along with compliance in regards to DOT/FMCSA Hours of Service.
• Perform necessary log corrections and edits. Verify accuracy with supporting paperwork verification.
• Identify and troubleshoot driver log issues and perform individual driver training as needed.
• Counsel drivers on HOS, DOT/FMCSA regulations, and answer questions related to compliance issues.
• Evaluate a driver’s ability to comply with regulations and coach or initiate (implement) corrective actions and/or disciplinary action as needed.
• Communicate with drivers via Mobile communications system and phone individually and fleet wide.
• Monitor and investigate compliance and results of roadside inspections and citations.
• Administrative support including maintaining telematics systems, reports, and files.
• Assist with various other compliance tasks and duties as directed by Safety Manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have at least 2 years of experience in an administrative role
• Must be extremely detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent computer knowledge and skill, especially Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Degree in business or related field preferred
• Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations and hours of service helpful.
• Basic math skills necessary
